Do I need to seal my pavers?
That is the most common question I get, and the answer is no you do not have to seal the brick, but sealing the pavers does have some advantages. Sealing helps protect from stains and makes cleaning up much easier, if your patio or drive is located under large trees or you throw parties where your
friends get a little rowdy & spill it helps keep stains from penetrating, Another advantage is the sealer brings out the colors of the brick, either a semi-gloss, wet look, or a matte finish will show the true colors. And last the sealers help keep the sand in the joints in place, and reduce the amount of weeds that try to grow in the joints.
How long before I need to reseal?
On average expect 2 to 4 years, sunlight and heavy traffic affect
the life of the sealer the most.
What finishes are available?
There is a wet look, high gloss, finish -- A semi-gloss finish -- and a water repelling sealer that has a natural finish.
What's the process?
First the areas to be sealed are spot treated from removal of any stains, power washed and the joints clean up of any weeds or debris, next, if needed, any areas that you would like to be fixed are repaired. After the area has dried it is then resanded, blow off any excess dust , then sealer is applied.
How long before I can use my walk or driveway?
The surface is dry to the touch within 2 to 3 hours, but takes a full 24 hours to fully set up.
